New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking an experienced Systems & Network Administrator to provide occasional technical support for one of our clients in downtown Vancouver.

This is a very part time, as-needed engagement, expected to average only a few hours per month. The ideal candidate is an experienced IT professional who has the flexibility to provide remote support when required and attend the client site in downtown Vancouver for issues that cannot be resolved remotely.

This opportunity would be well suited to an experienced independent IT consultant, contractor, or technical professional who has capacity for a small ongoing support engagement alongside other commitments.

Responsibilities:

- Provide remote and onsite systems and network support on an as-needed basis
- Support and troubleshoot Cisco Meraki networking equipment, including switches, firewalls/security appliances, wireless access points, and related network connectivity
- Troubleshoot other network and infrastructure devices as required
- Diagnose network, connectivity, VPN, hardware, and system issues
- Provide occasional desktop and end-user support
- Assist with workstation, peripheral, and other onsite IT issues when remote resolution is not possible




- Coordinate with the client and other technical resources to resolve incidents and maintain reliable IT operations
- Document work performed and any configuration changes as required

Requirements:

- 5+ years of experience in systems administration, network administration, or IT infrastructure support
- Hands-on experience supporting Cisco Meraki networking environments
- Strong network troubleshooting skills, including TCP/IP, switching, routing, wireless networking, VPNs, and firewalls
- Experience supporting Windows-based desktop and business IT environments
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues independently
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Must be located in Metro Vancouver and able to attend the client's downtown Vancouver location when onsite support is required
- Ability to provide support on an occasional, as-needed basis
