Work model:HybridSalary:$35 - $55 per hour, based on experienceTasksDevelop a coordinated and integrated strategic communications plan; Develop, in consultation with the Director and key stakeholders, mission and vision statements to guide the work of the community and organization; Liaise with publicaffairs staff to ensure that the communications approach is consistent with applicable public affairs policies and procedures; Support publicaffairs staff as a subject matter expert for accurate messaging on public affairs matters; Act as contentadvisor/editor for internal and external communications products; Develop strongworking relationships with communications and public affairs personnel across relevant government departments, partners, organizations, schools, and industry; Advise the Director and senior staff on matters related to internal and external communications and media relations; Assist in the preparation of speeches on relevant organizational matters; Prepare briefing notes for public affairs leadership on communications and internal issues requiring chain-of-command and ministerial approval; Review and/or prepare news releases as requested by the organization’s staff; Write, design,and develop PowerPoint presentations on relevant topics as directed; Write, design,develop, edit, and maintain a website to keep staff informed about internal and external information; Write, design,develop, edit, and maintain an intranet page for staff communications (internal network access only); Write, edit, design, and publish newsletters aimed at staff, partners, industry, and other government departments; Write, edit, design, and publish approved backgrounders, fact sheets, and briefing materials as directed; Write, design,develop, edit, and maintain social media sites as directed, including but not limited to Meta and Instagram; Develop and maintain a lexicon, including glossary and acronym listings, for frequently used terms; Write, edit, design,



and publish journalistic articles for internal and external publications and websites; Attend meetings and prepare meeting minutes; Review and/or prepare audio/video news releases as requested by the chain of command; Research, write, design, publish, and record short videos and multimedia content with appropriate approvals.EducationMT.1:Must have experience in developing at least one strategic communications plan in the last 36 months.Reference checks:will only confirm provided information.MT.2:Must have a minimum of 12 months of combined experience, within the last 36 months, in designing and developing websites and social media.Reference checks:will only confirm provided information.MT.3:Must have a minimum of 12 months of combined experience, within the last 36 months, designing print and online publications.Reference checks:will only confirm provided information.MT.4:Must have a minimum of 12 months of combined experience, within the last 36 months, in producing and editing videos (minimum one minute duration).Reference checks:will only confirm provided information.RatedRT.1:Experience performing duties related to public affairs or communications functions for a Government organization at the Federal, Provincial or Municipal level.Reference checks:will only confirm provided information.RT.2:Demonstrated experience as a primary or significant contributor in the development of written communications: news releases, speeches, fact sheets, backgrounders, questions and answers, media response lines.Reference checks:will only confirm provided information.RT.3:Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Publisher or other web and print design tools.Reference checks:will only confirm provided information.RT.4:Experience using Microsoft Publisher for web and/or print design.Reference checks:will only confirm provided information.RT.5:Experience using other web and print design tools.Reference checks:will only confirm provided information.#J-18808-Ljbffr
