Taigon Taekwondo Assistant InstructorCreate a meaningful and rewarding experience in Canada through Taekwondo!
Since 2023, Taigon Taekwondo has been helping students in Canada grow into healthier, stronger, and more confident individuals through Taekwondo.
We believe Taekwondo is about much more than learning techniques.
It is about seeing a student walk into the Dojang for the first time feeling nervous, and then watching them gradually become more confident, learn new skills, and grow.
Most importantly, it is about having a positive impact on their lives.
That is what we believe makes teaching Taekwondo so rewarding.
We are currently looking for an Assistant Instructor to join our team and help support our students and Masters during classes.
You May Be a Great Fit If You...
- Love Taekwondo and enjoy working with children
- Want to gain Taekwondo-related experience in Canada
- Want to grow as a Taekwondo instructor or Master in the future
- Enjoy meeting and working with people from different backgrounds
- Want to improve your English naturally while working in an English-speaking environment
- Want to make a positive difference in children's lives through Taekwondo
You do not need to be perfect from day one. You will work alongside our Masters, learn our teaching methods, and gradually become more comfortable with your responsibilities.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is responsible, positive, and genuinely enjoys working with students.
Your Role
As an Assistant Instructor, you will support our Masters and help create a fun, safe, and positive training environment for our students.
Your responsibilities will include
- Welcoming students and parents with a friendly attitude
- Preparing the Dojang and training equipment before classes
- Assisting with warm-ups and basic Taekwondo movements
- Supporting students with their techniques, posture, and training during class
- Helping demonstrate Taekwondo techniques when needed
- Helping keep the Dojang and lobby clean and organized
- Learning Taigon Taekwondo's teaching methods and curriculum through instructor training
- Gradually taking on more teaching responsibilities as you gain experience
You will start by assisting classes and supporting our Masters. As your experience and confidence grow, you will have opportunities to become more involved in teaching and take on additional responsibilities.
QualificationsRequired
- Kukkiwon 3rd Dan or higher
- Positive understanding of fundamental Taekwondo techniques
- Responsible, reliable, and willing to take on new challenges
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and team members
- Enjoy working with children and bringing positive energy to the classroom
Assets The following experience would be an advantage:
- Taekwondo tournament experience
- Previous experience as an assistant instructor or Taekwondo instructor
- Experience in Sparring, Poomsae, or demonstration teams
- Kukkiwon 4th Dan or higher

Why This Experience Matters
This is more than simply coming to work and helping with classes.
While living in Canada, you will have the opportunity to experience Taekwondo education in an international environment, communicate with students in English, and work with people from different backgrounds.
You can also build both Taekwondo teaching experience and international work experience—something that can become a meaningful part of your personal and professional journey.
At first, it might be something as simple as helping one student learn a new kick.
But one day, that student may look at you and say:
“Instructor! I can do it now!”
You may see a child who was once too shy to make eye contact with their parents or instructors begin to confidently say hello.
You may also experience the moment when a student finally succeeds at a difficult Poomsae after practicing it again and again.
Those moments are some of the most rewarding parts of being a Taekwondo instructor.
And you won't be working alone.
You will work alongside our Masters, learn from one another, support each other, and share many smiles with our students.
At Taigon Taekwondo, we value creating a comfortable, positive, and supportive environment where everyone can learn and grow together.
Make Your Time in Canada More Meaningful!
Instead of simply spending your time in Canada working, why not use that time to do something you enjoy?
Practice the Taekwondo you love, meet new people, gain teaching experience, communicate in English, and create great memories along the way.
If you love Taekwondo, this can be a great place to start.
You don't need to know everything from the beginning.
We learn together. We grow together.
Join Taigon Taekwondo, enjoy the experience, and make your time in Canada a little more special and meaningful.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Taigon Taekwondo team!
