About the role

We're an Edmonton automotive dealership looking for a Finance Assistant who speaks Tagalog.

The work happens entirely on the phone and computer. Customers apply for vehicle financing with us, and when an application comes in, it's yours. You reach out by call, text and email, get a real conversation going, and confirm the details of what they've submitted. Once the file is complete, you pass it to one of our Finance Managers.

There's no cold calling and no selling involved. Every person you contact has already asked us for help.

We'll be upfront about one thing

This role is repetitive by design. You'll ask a lot of the same questions and have a lot of the same conversations, every day you work. Some people find that difficult. Others prefer knowing exactly what the job is and getting very good at it. If that's you, you'll do well here, and you'll carry more weight than the title suggests, because nothing else in our finance department moves until your part is done.

What you'll be doing

- Contacting new finance leads by phone, text and email as soon as they come in
- Getting customers into a real conversation, not just a yes or no answer
- Reviewing each application with the customer and confirming the details are correct
- Keeping accurate, current notes in our CRM
- Following up consistently with customers who haven't responded
- Passing completed files to a Finance Manager

What we're looking for

- Fluency in Tagalog and English. Many of our customers speak Tagalog, but many don't, so you'll be moving between both languages throughout your shift.
- Comfort on the phone. Not just a willingness to make calls, but genuine ease talking with people you've never met, for most of your day.
- The ability to focus. This is the piece people tend to underestimate.



Doing the same task properly for hours at a time is a real skill, and it's most of this job.
- Self-motivation. Nobody will be standing over your shoulder. You'll know what your targets are, and we'll expect you to go after them on your own.
- Weekend availability. This is not a Monday to Friday position.

A note on experience You don't need a background in finance or the automotive industry, and we'd honestly prefer you didn't have one.

Some of our strongest hires have come out of service-based work. Restaurants, retail, hotels, call centres, anywhere you spent your day dealing with people. If you can stay steady and personable through a busy shift, you already have the part we can't teach. We'll train you on the rest.

Schedule

Average 36 hours per week, with weekend availability required. Your schedule stays consistent week to week so you can plan around it, and we'll go over the specific days and times with you during the interview.

Compensation and advancement

Starting pay is $16.00 per hour, with a bonus structure available for the right candidate.

There is also a genuine path into a Finance Manager role. We promote out of this seat. We do look for roughly a year of strong performance in the assistant role first, because that's how long it takes to learn this side of the business properly. If you're expecting to move up within a few months, this likely isn't the right fit.
