The Abbotsford School District is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Semá:th First Nation and Mathxwí First Nation. With this, we respect the longstanding relationships that Indigenous Nations have to this land, as they are the original caretakers.The starting annual salary for this full-time School Teacher position ranges from $61,502 to $112,806, based on placement on the July 1, 2025 Teacher Salary Grid in accordance with the collective agreement.Job Summary & ResponsibilitiesElementary Counsellors are a part of the larger District Learning Support Services team. Working in itinerant positions, they support multiple elementary schools across the district. Generally speaking, our Elementary Counsellors provide ongoing emotional, social and behavioural support for identified students, participate with School Based Teams and integrated care teams, liaise with district and community agencies, and support parents and families of identified students either directly or through referral to community agencies.Education & ExperienceMaster’s Degree in Counselling with a counselling practicum relevant to the school environmentExperience as a school counsellor at the Elementary LevelTraining in violence, threat, risk assessment (VTRA) successfully complete and maintain non-violent crisis intervention certificationEligible for B.C.
