Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for an Employment Lawyer at Achkar Law. The Employment Lawyer will advise employers and employees on a broad range of labor and employment law issues, including hiring, discipline, termination, workplace policies, and regulatory compliance. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating employment contracts and related documentation, assessing legal risks, and providing practical recommendations. The role involves representing clients in court, tribunals and other dispute resolution forums, preparing pleadings and legal submissions, and managing files from intake through resolution.
The Employment Lawyer will collaborate with colleagues, communicate regularly with clients, and stay current on legislative developments and case law impacting employment and labor matters.
Qualifications
- Robust foundation in Law with a focus on Labor and Employment Law.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating Employment Contracts and workplace policies.
- Background handling Employment Tribunal matters, including advocacy, case management, and dispute resolution.
- Experience managing Labor Disputes, such as wrongful dismissal, harassment, discrimination, and constructive dismissal claims.
- Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction, with good standing in the applicable bar or law society.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and written advocacy skills, with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Strong client communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to provide practical, business-oriented advice.
- Comfort working independently in a remote environment, using legal and collaboration technologies effectively.
- Prior experience in a litigation or employment law practice is an asset.
