drawing conclusion and support providing outlookAssist with compliance with all corporate accounting controls and checks and balancesWorking with other functional groups to capture required information and ensuring the accuracy in the financial statementsEnsure that all balance sheet account reconciliations are complete and accurate in BlacklineAssist with analysis on topics such as rate of return, working capital requirements, and impact of governmental requirementsCompile, analyze and evaluate key operating metrics across businesses and operating segmentsConduct research and prepare economic reports as needed for government requirementsConduct studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepare recommendations for policy, procedure, control and/or actionResearch IFRS accounting standards and assist in maintaining up-to-date accounting policies and financial statement note disclosuresPerform continuous assessment of all accounting departmental processes and recommend re-engineering opportunities to improve the timing and accuracy of the department’s activitiesMiscellaneous other accounting responsibilities as requiredWhat it takesBachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/math or similarCPA (CA, CMA, CGA) (completed or in progress)3-5 years of demonstrated ability in general accounting/ finance environmentAudit from Tier 1 or Tier 2 audit firm or accounting experience at a mid-size or largeCash reconciliationsAt Messer, our vision for culture and engagement is to create an setting where all of us accept, respect and value the differences of multiple identities and truly welcome the diverse ideas and perspectives of individuals.
