Join School District No. 64 (Gulf Islands) as a Vision Support Teacher in a temporary 0.1250 FTE position. This role focuses on supporting students with visual impairments across all district schools.
Starting September 1, 2026, this temporary role lasts until June 30, 2027. Candidates must hold a B.C. Ministry of Education Teaching Certification and possess specialized qualifications, including a Master's Degree in Education for Students with Visual Impairments.
Ideal applicants will have experience with assistive technology, IEP development, and collaboration with diverse educational specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students with visual impairments in K-12 settings
Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Adapt instructional materials for inclusivity
Provide consultation on curriculum adaptation strategies
Collaborate with teachers to enhance educational outcomes
Requirements:
B.C. Ministry of Education Teaching Certification
Master's Degree or Diploma in Visual Impairment Education
Experience with low vision aids and assistive technology
Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s License
Proven experience in inclusive educational environments
