TECHNICAL SALES & PROGRAM MANAGER
Location: Aylmer, Ontario — Onsite
Job Type: Full-Time An Opportunity to Help Build Something
Flexus Industries is growing, and we are looking for someone who wants more than a narrowly defined sales, estimating or project-management position.
We are seeking a commercially driven manufacturing professional who wants the opportunity to help build a business, develop customer relationships, improve systems and have a visible impact on the growth and culture of a company.
This is a hands-on role at the intersection of sales, customers, quoting, engineering and production.
You may spend part of your day following up on a significant customer opportunity, another part working through a difficult quote with the shop, and another helping solve a production or launch issue for a customer.
If you enjoy that kind of ownership and variety, this may be the opportunity for you.
What You Will Own
Customer & Account Management
· Manage and grow existing customer relationships.
· Understand customer needs, applications and requirements.
· Aggressively follow up on inquiries, quotations, opportunities and orders.
· Build strong relationships with purchasing, engineering, operations and program-management contacts.
· Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts.
· Ensure customer opportunities and commitments do not fall through the cracks.
Technical Estimating & Quoting
· Review customer drawings, specifications and applications.
· Work directly with production to determine how products can be manufactured effectively.
· Take ownership of the quoting process from inquiry through customer follow-up.
· Help improve the accuracy, consistency and speed of estimating and quoting.
· Develop an understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and costs.
Program & Launch Management
· Coordinate new projects from quotation through programming, material procurement, tooling, samples/first articles and production launch.
· Track customer requirements, timelines and commitments.
· Follow projects through the plant rather than considering the job complete when the purchase order arrives.
· Identify potential problems early and help drive them toward resolution.
Customer-to-Production Coordination
· Serve as a bridge between the customer and the Flexus production team.
· Translate customer requirements into clear internal priorities and expectations.
· Work directly with plant leadership and production personnel to understand project status.
· Communicate effectively with customers when requirements, schedules or circumstances change.
Systems & Process Improvement
· Help develop stronger systems around estimating, quoting, project management and customer follow-up.
· Identify gaps in the flow of information between sales, customers and production.
· Help build processes that allow Flexus to grow effectively.
Sales & Business Development
· Identify opportunities within existing customer accounts.
· Convert customer inquiries and quotations into orders.
· Develop relationships that create repeat and expanded business.
· As your knowledge of Flexus' capabilities, customers and markets develops, increasingly identify and pursue new accounts, applications and business opportunities.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone with meaningful experience in a manufacturing environment who understands both the commercial and operational sides of serving a customer.
Relevant backgrounds may include
· Machining / CNC
· Metal or industrial fabrication
· Plastic fabrication
· Engineered foam
· Industrial sewing or textiles
· Returnable packaging and dunnage
· Industrial or protective packaging
· Injection molding
· Thermoforming
· Automotive components
· Material handling
· Tool & die
· Contract manufacturing
· Automation or other custom-manufacturing environments
What You Bring
Ideally, you have experience with several of the following:
· Technical or industrial sales
· Customer/account management
· RFQs, estimating and quoting
· Reading technical drawings and specifications
· Manufacturing processes and costing
· Project or program management
· New-product or production launches
· Working directly with production teams
· Developing new customer opportunities
· Improving business or manufacturing processes An engineering background—particularly manufacturing, mechanical, industrial or applications engineering—is an asset, but a degree is not required. Strong practical manufacturing experience may be equally valuable.
The Person Who Will Thrive Here
You are entrepreneurial.
You like taking ownership.
You are comfortable walking onto the production floor to understand a problem rather than managing everything from behind a desk.
You enjoy customers and selling, but you also want to understand how what you sell will actually be manufactured.
You follow up.
You solve problems.
You see an imperfect process and think about how to make it better.
And you are attracted to the opportunity to help build something from the ground up rather than simply inherit a mature system.
Why Flexus?
This is an opportunity to have a real impact.
You will work directly with customers, production and company leadership and have the chance to influence how Flexus develops its commercial systems, customer relationships and operating culture.
As Flexus grows, we expect the scope and leadership opportunity associated with this position to grow with it.
If you are looking for a position where your contribution can be seen, measured and felt throughout the organization, we would like to talk with you.
