The YMCA of Northern Alberta seeks a dedicated Aquatics staff member who excels in both instructing clients and maintaining a secure swimming area. This role requires exemplary skills in swim instruction, communication, and health safety practices. You will actively monitor swimmers, deliver personalized lessons, and nurture a welcoming atmosphere for all.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging swim lessons within the YMCA framework
• Monitor the pool area, ensuring safety and compliance
• Communicate effectively with participants and parents
• Maintain accurate records for attendance and progress
• Conduct safety audits and enforce pool regulations
Requirements:
• Minimum age of 16 with supervision requirements
• Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification
• National Lifeguard certification to be obtained
• YMCA Swim Instructor or Lifesaving Instructor qualification
• Robust written and verbal communication skills
