About Skinfolio

Skinfolio Medical Inc. is a physician-led medical aesthetics clinic focused on personalized, results-driven treatment plans. We combine advanced technologies, medical-grade skincare, and professional education to help clients address their skin and body concerns with confidence.

We are looking for an experienced Medical Aesthetic Technician who is passionate about skin health, client education, and delivering safe, consistent treatment outcomes.

Position Summary The Medical Aesthetic Technician provides non-invasive and energy-based aesthetic treatments within their training, certification, and authorized scope of practice. This position is responsible for creating an excellent client experience, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, supporting treatment-plan conversion and rebooking, and following all clinic safety and sanitation protocols.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Perform approved aesthetic treatments according to clinic protocols and individual qualifications.
- Provide treatments such as facials, medical-grade skincare treatments, chemical peels, microneedling, laser, IPL, radiofrequency, body-contouring, and other device-based services for which the technician has been trained and authorized.
- Conduct thorough client consultations and skin analyses to understand concerns, goals, medical history, contraindications, and treatment suitability.
- Develop personalized treatment and home-care recommendations under Skinfolio’s established protocols.
- Explain treatment benefits, limitations, expected results, downtime, risks, and pre- and post-treatment instructions.
- Identify contraindications and escalate medical questions or concerns to the appropriate physician, nurse, or clinic leader.
- Obtain and confirm informed consent before treatment.
- Complete accurate and timely client charting, including treatment settings, products used, observations, adverse reactions, and follow-up recommendations.
- Capture standardized before-and-after photographs with the client’s documented consent.
- Monitor clients throughout treatment and respond appropriately to unexpected reactions or safety concerns.
- Follow infection-prevention, sanitation, equipment-maintenance, and laser-safety procedures.
- Maintain clean, organized, fully stocked treatment rooms.
- Perform daily equipment checks and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Educate clients about treatment plans, maintenance schedules, memberships, packages, and appropriate medical-grade skincare products.

- Recommend services and products ethically based on the client’s needs rather than using high-pressure sales tactics.
- Consistently work toward individual and clinic performance expectations, including consultation conversion, treatment sales, retail sales, rebooking, retention, and client satisfaction.
- Follow up with clients when required and communicate concerns to the appropriate team member.
- Support inventory counts, product tracking, room preparation, and general clinic operations.
- Participate in team meetings, product education, device training, and ongoing professional development.
- Maintain client confidentiality and comply with clinic privacy, safety, and documentation policies.
- Assist other team members when needed to support a professional and efficient clinic environment.

Required Education and Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Medical Aesthetics, Advanced Aesthetics, Esthetics, or a related field from a recognized training institution.
- Formal training and certification for any laser, IPL, radiofrequency, microneedling, or other energy-based devices the candidate will operate.
- Strong understanding of skin anatomy, common skin concerns, contraindications, treatment safety, and infection-control practices.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification before beginning independent treatments.
- Eligibility to work legally in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in a medical aesthetics, dermatology, plastic surgery, or comparable clinical setting.
- Experience operating laser, IPL, radiofrequency, microneedling, facial, or body-contouring technologies.
- Laser-safety, WHMIS, infection-control, and blood-borne-pathogen training.
- Experience recommending medical-grade skincare and building comprehensive treatment plans.
- Experience with Zenoti or a similar booking, charting, and client-management system.
- Familiarity with standardized clinical photography.
- Additional language skills are considered an asset but are not required.

Skills and Attributes
- Strong consultation, communication, and client-education skills.
- Professional, warm, and confident approach to client care.
- High attention to detail and commitment to treatment safety.

- Ability to follow protocols and work within defined professional boundaries.
- Strong documentation, organization, and time-management skills.
- Comfortable discussing treatment plans, pricing, packages, memberships, and skincare recommendations.
- Accountable for individual performance and receptive to coaching.
- Reliable, punctual, collaborative, and able to contribute positively to a team environment.
- Able to perform the essential duties of the position, with reasonable accommodation where required.

Performance Expectations Performance will be evaluated using both service quality and business-related measures, including:
- Client safety and adherence to treatment protocols.
- Client satisfaction and quality of care.
- Accuracy and completion of clinical documentation.
- Rebooking and client-retention rates.
- Consultation and treatment-plan conversion.
- Treatment and retail performance.
- Attendance, reliability, teamwork, and participation in training.
