Provide support in food preparation and service at counter and kitchen areas. Maintain clean, safe, and efficient operations while assisting cooks and serving customers.
Number of Positions 10
Main Duties Prepare and assemble menu items, ingredients, and easy dishes according to recipes and portioning guidelines.
Operate food service equipment and small appliances safely and follow proper operating procedures.
Serve customers at the counter, take orders, handle payments or POS transactions, and package takeout items.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, workstations, counters, utensils, and equipment following hygiene standards.
Receive, inspect, and store deliveries, rotate stock using first-in, first-out procedures, and report inventory needs.
Assist cooks and supervisors with food prep tasks, basic cooking duties, and plating during busy service periods.
Requirements Secondary school diploma or equivalent preferred; on-the-job training provided as needed.
Previous experience in food service, retail, or hospitality is an asset but not always required.
Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices or willingness to complete food handling training.
Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods, lifting moderate weights, and repetitive motions.
Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by service hours.
Good communication skills, ability to follow instructions, and a cooperative attitude for teamwork.
Required Skills Customer service and interpersonal skills to interact courteously with patrons and coworkers.
Basic food preparation skills, including portioning, assembly, and simple cooking techniques.
Sanitation and hygiene practices to maintain a clean and safe food environment.
Time management and organization to prioritize tasks during busy service periods.
Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and basic cash handling (where applicable).
Teamwork and adaptability to assist in different kitchen and front-of-house tasks as needed.
