Capital Power is seeking a motivated Energy Trader for its Western US Trading team. This position requires a quantitative background and experience in physical power trading across WECC, CAISO, and SPP. You will manage trading activities, support structured transactions, and collaborate with multiple departments to deliver innovative energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Optimize Capital Power’s assets across WECC/CAISO
• Develop speculative trading strategies in power and gas
• Support structured deal pricing and execution




• Manage relationships with counterparties and negotiate agreements
• Apply risk management practices to mitigate losses

Requirements:
• Degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, or Finance
• 3+ years in physical power trading in the Western US
• Experience in energy market operations and analysis
• Proficient in trading platforms like Python and SQL
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
