Viking Reinforcing is looking for a reliable and hardworking Rebar Yard Worker to join our team. This is a full-time position working in a fast-paced rebar fabrication yard. The successful candidate will assist with the handling, fabrication, organization, and preparation of reinforcing steel for construction projects.
Responsibilities
Assist with cutting, bending, sorting, bundling, and tagging reinforcing steel.
Operate rebar fabrication equipment after receiving appropriate training.
Load an unload rebar and materials.
Prepare orders for delivery to job sites.
Maintain clean and organized work areas.
Follow company safety procedures, SWPs, and PPE requirements.
Participate in safety meetings and workplace inspections.
Assist other yard and fabrication personnel as required.
Qualifications
Previous rebar, steel, or construction experience is an asset but not required.
Physically capable of performing repetitive lifting and handling of steel.
Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
Able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Strong attention to safety and quality.
Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
Forklift or telehandler experience an asset.
WHMIS and other construction safety training are considered assets.
