The University of Lethbridge is seeking a SharePoint Analyst to assist with the planning and implementation of campus-wide electronic records management initiatives using Microsoft SharePoint Online and Microsoft Purview. This is a two-year (2) term position located at our Lethbridge campus.

Position Overview:
As the SharePoint Analyst, you will play a central role in advancing the university’s use of SharePoint Online and Microsoft Purview for records and information management. Working with a small team of technical specialists and process owners, you will help translate business and records management needs into practical configuration, administration, and support activities within SharePoint Online. The position will also support the planned use of Microsoft Purview capabilities, including sensitivity labels, retention policies, and retention labels across administrative and research areas. This position reports to the Director of Infrastructure and works closely with the Records and Information Manager, Security and Systems teams, as well as academic and administrative units.

Key Responsibilities:
Understand Business Requirements





Work to understand the needs of the business and match them with capabilities of the Purview and SharePoint Online applications to optimize the management of electronic documents.

Implement Electronic Records Management
Serve as the technical expert for SharePoint Online and Microsoft Purview to assist in developing an effective electronic document records management program with a small team.

Leverage and Grow the Usage of Tools
Assist users to leverage tools such as SharePoint Online and Microsoft Purview to manage the lifecycle of digital records. Configure SharePoint Online for efficient and appropriate record storage. Create and administer sensitivity labels, retention policies and labels to manage data. This will help teams to protect sensitive information and ensure the university meets its legal and regulatory obligations.

Configure SharePoint Online
Assist business users in configuring document repositories within SharePoint sites to conform electronic records management program once developed.

The University of Lethbridge is undertaking a job classification and compensation review for Administrative Skilled Officer ( APO ) positions. As such, the salary range currently assigned for this position may be adjusted as a result of this project.

Position Qualifications
Education:
University degree in a relevant field (e.g. data science, computer science, etc).

Experience:
Experience administering and configuring a Microsoft SharePoint Online tenant is required.
Experience with Microsoft Purview would be ideal. Experience in a post-secondary environment is preferred.

Skills:




2+ years of experience configuring and managing a SharePoint Online tenant as an administrator
Experience working with records management and electronic document management system implementations
Familiarity with Microsoft Purview or other Microsoft 365 compliance features would be considered an asset
Excellent planning, coordination, and interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal communication

Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $66,716.84 - $83,930.19 annually

Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $66,716.84 - $101,143.54 annually (APO - Grade 3)
