Position OverviewPower Your Future with Qualus as a Senior Protection & Control Engineer to join our well-established Protection & Control team of engineers and designers, in our Transmission and Distribution Canada business. This role offers long-term workload stability, exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects, and the opportunity to provide technical leadership across utility and renewable energy clients.You will work on projects ranging from 12 kV to 500 kV, supporting designs from early concept through construction and commissioning. This chance is ideal for a senior engineer who enjoys technical ownership, mentoring others, and solving complex system-level challenges.ResponsibilitiesProvide technical leadership to engineers and designers delivering protection, control, and metering systems for high-voltage substationsServe as Technical Lead on assigned projects, guiding designs from conceptual planning through construction and commissioningDevelop and review protection planning and application documentsDevelop and review one-lines, schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagramsPerform protection coordination studies and relay settings for utility transmission systemsLead engineering design reviews, factory acceptance testing, and field inspectionsSupport construction, outage planning, and commissioning activitiesParticipate in client technical, Safety by Design, and constructability review meetingsPrepare or review project scopes, feasibility studies, estimates, and definition-phase deliverablesCollaborate with the Business Development team on proposals and estimatesAct as a technical point of contact for clients and external partnersMentor and develop junior engineers while contributing to continuous improvement of P&C standards and practicesQualifications8-15 years of utility-focused protection, control,
