Location: Fort McKay Caribou Energy Park, Alberta
Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off, 12-hour shifts
Weldco Heavy Industries (WHI) is a large steel fabrication and repair facility located in the Fort McKay Caribou Energy Park, strategically positioned in the heart of Alberta’s Oil Sands. We provide large-scale steel repair, fabrication, assembly, and refurbishment services to industry.
Safety is the heart of everything we do, and we are seeking a Safety Coordinator to help lead and strengthen our culture.
Reporting to the Director of Operations , you will provide hands-on safety support across our operations, including:
Ensuring compliance with OHS legislation and company safety requirements.
Conducting orientations, inspections, hazard assessments, audits, and observations.
Supporting incident investigations, injury management, and the JOHSC.
Coordinating safety training and equipment inspections.
Supporting COR audits, KPI tracking, and safety reporting.
Providing safety guidance and building strong relationships with employees and leadership
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of Alberta OHS legislation and WCB requirements.
Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
First Aid, WHMIS, and related post-secondary education are considered assets.
