(12 hours; Days, Weekends, Evenings)
This position operates on a rotational schedule. Employees will work a total of 150 hours over a two-week rotation; however, compensation will be averaged and paid as 75 hours bi-weekly. Hours of work will be scheduled in accordance with the flexible work schedule provisions outlined in Article 19.01(a) of the NAPE-HP Collective Agreement, by mutual agreement. This rotational position provides Mental Health & Addictions Services to the community of Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Employer-provided accommodations and airfare (from designated airports within Newfoundland and Labrador) will be provided for scheduled work rotations.

Salary :

CGHP39 (CAD40.88 - CAD49.71 per hour) Plus Labrador Allowance, if applicable.

About the Role:
The Social Worker I is clinical position on the Mobile Crisis Response Teams (MCRT). The MCRT offers an creative response to persons experiencing mental health-related crisis by providing in-person interventions directly in the community to persons experiencing mental health crisis where and when it occurs. The MCRT is an Emergency Service responding to unknown clients/unpredictable situations in a variety of community settings as determined by need and coordinating when needed with other services such as police/paramedics. The MCRT responds within specific geographic boundaries within Happy-Valley Goose Bay.

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from a recognized post-secondary institution is required.
Applicable Registration and or Licensure with the Professional Association is required (NLCSW).
A Valid Class 5 driver’s license is required.
Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience in assessment and counselling is preferred.
Background in mental health and/or addictions, including providing individual, family,



and group counselling.
Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention and suicide intervention, with the ability to respond effectively to clients’ urgent and emergent needs.
Strong analytical, facilitation, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to exercise a high level of independent clinical judgment in day?to?day practice.

Duties: (Included but not limited to):
Attend mental health crisis calls in the community, in collaboration with the RCMP, and provide assessment and clinical intervention competently and calmly to ensure a quality service.
Participate in clinical case conferencing activities and community mental health research and quality assurance.
Provide walk-in clinic service to individuals and to individuals who present to the Emergency Room or admitted to Inpatient Services after regular working hours.
The incumbent will conduct mental health assessments, obtain collateral information from nursing/medical staff, family members, etc. and coordinate with other disciplines and available community resources to provide follow-up care, to enhance service to clients.
Documentation of all patient contacts and outcomes is also required.
Other related duties as required Travel maybe required, maybe required to work alone.
Provide clinical consultation to other clinic team members and to individuals who are seeking or requiring service. These clinical services include screening, comprehensive assessments, treatment, and intervention in the context of an interdisciplinary team, etc.
Travel may be required, and the successful candidate must be able to work independently when necessary and other related duties as required.
