Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Windows System Platform Engineer to support the design, maintenance, and evolution of enterprise Windows server platforms across on-premises and cloud environments for one of the large 5 banks. This individual will play a key role in operating system lifecycle management, image engineering, platform security, automation, and infrastructure modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep Windows expertise, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and experience working within large-scale enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain Windows server platforms and standardized operating system images.

Support OS lifecycle management, including testing, certification, deployment, and platform currency.

Drive security and compliance initiatives through OS hardening, vulnerability remediation, and audit support.

Develop and enhance automation solutions for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and operational efficiency.

Troubleshoot complex platform issues and partner with support teams to implement long-term solutions.

Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, application, and security teams to support enterprise technology initiatives.

Evaluate recent technologies and provide recommendations to improve reliability, scalability, and performance.

Skills and Requirements

Strong experience administering and engineering Windows Server environments.

Hands-on expertise with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and PowerShell.

Experience with operating system security, hardening standards, and vulnerability management.

Knowledge of automation and scripting tools such as PowerShell, Shell Scripting, or Ansible.

Experience supporting cloud-hosted infrastructure within Azure and/or AWS.

Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.

Experience working with virtualization technologies such as VMware

Experience managing or building Windows golden images.

Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.

Experience with VMware vCenter, ESX, PowerCLI, Azure CLI, or AWS CLI.

Knowledge of enterprise hardware platforms including Dell or HPE infrastructure.

Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure modernization or cloud migration initiatives.
