Your OpportunityAs a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP), you will work as a front‑line healthcare provider in EHS Operations. You may work throughout the Edmonton area, performing a variety of front‑line ambulance duties. You are expected to conduct yourself respectfully with members of the public, colleagues and allied services, and to follow direction with competence. The role may require several shift patterns.Responsibilities- Assess emergency scenes and patients, and transport ill or injured patients from the scene and between facilities.- Operate ambulances or other modes of transportation, treating patients by administering minor medications, providing basic life support (BLS) airway adjuncts, and performing semi‑automated defibrillation.- Lead the BLS crew in delivering clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes.- Ensure ambulances and other EMS vehicles, including non‑emergent transport (NET) units, are properly stocked and equipped.- Work in demanding environments that include exposure to heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, moving traffic and industrial/agricultural equipment. This may involve travel to remote locations and exposure to hazardous, graphic scenes and bodily fluids.- Meet physical demands such as lifting and carrying up to 105 lbs,
kneeling and trunk flexion for extended periods, standing, sitting, bending, twisting, side‑carries up to 20 lbs in each hand and assuming awkward positions.Required QualificationsNon‑restricted registration in positive standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP) as a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP).Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) CPR certification.Valid Class 4 Alberta Operator License or equivalent, and a five‑year driver abstract current within six months with no more than six demitits prior to commencing work.Proof of successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test via certificate from Lifemark, issued no more than six months prior to application.Qualified to perform full operational duties as of the start date.Preferred QualificationsPrior EHS experience in metro, suburban, rural or inter‑facility environments and in other health‑care or public‑safety settings.Completion of additional post‑secondary programs.Documentation supporting qualifications submitted with application.Vehicle requirement:Driver's license, vehicle provided.Minimum salary:$33.67 per hour.Maximum salary:$42.51 per hour.#J-18808-Ljbffr
