As an intern or co-op student through our EXCEL (Exploring Careers through Experiential Learning) Program you will gain hands-on career specific experiences to maximize your real world potential.The RoleAs a Supervisor, the individual is responsible for supervising a group of employees involved in production, or operations. The group is responsible for quality products in a safe, and timely manner. Also, the Co-Op student will be responsible for reducing costs, eliminating waste, and improving safety practices. Together with other Supervisors, you are part of a team supporting business objectives, and maintaining operation at a world-class level. Some of the problem-solving work is of a technical nature. This type of work requires the ability to make timely decisions within specified limits, that the individual can effectively cope with change, and can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.Furthermore, the Supervisor can expect to be collaborating on innovation challenges, interacting with industry leaders,



attending professional trade events, and volunteering for community service activities.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise hourly represented employees in a unionized environmentImplement Health & Safety laws, and promote a safe work environmentEnsure quality levels are maintained and improved every dayMaintain and exceed efficiency levels through continuous improvementsEffective use of personnel, material and equipmentAlign with terms of local and national labour agreementsMaintain department records and complete various administrative tasksSupervise and achieve business plan objectives and targetsShift rotations and flexible to work weekends and overtime as requiredQualificationsPursuit of a Bachelors Degree (3rd or 4th year) in Supply Chain, Business, Commerce or Computer Science, Engineering (Computer, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Automotive Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent)Able to work 40 hours per week in Canada and for 8, or 12 month term (consecutive semesters) starting September 2026Willing to work in a plant environment and flexible hours (shift work, weekends, and overtime to meet business needs)Preferred QualificationsPrior manufacturing experience, knowledge of production environments, and in automotive industry are considered assetsPrevious supervisory, or team leading experienceDesired SkillsOutstanding leadership, interpersonal,



and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organizationExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audienceHigh level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, takes initiative/self-directedEvidence of strong character with integrity, honesty, accountability and trustConsistently demonstrates innovative thinking that is customer-centricExcellent project management skills and the proven ability to manage numerous projects at any givenPossess strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skillsFundamental digital literacy including understanding of MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPointThe salary range for this role is $4264- $4784 CAD.
