INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN
Reporting to the Plant Manager, our Industrial Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical production equipment. Other duties include:
Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, switchgear, transformers, industrial storage batteries, hydraulic /pneumatic electrical control systems.
Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, coaxial cable assemblies, light fixtures and other electrical components.
Install, troubleshoot and maintain VFD and DC Drives, CNC Machines and Robots.
Ability to work at heights on scissor lifts and man lifts.
Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings.
Perform preventative maintenance through inspection of electrical systems, equipment and components and maintain accurate maintenance records.
Support as needed our asset management system with recommendations for change and review of existing procedures.
This role requires:
Experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. Minimum 2 years Industrial Electrician experience.
Previous work experience with PLC I/O troubleshooting and basic programming
Analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze and solve equipment problems.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills to work well with various team members.
Excellent time and priority management skills to preform daily work effectively in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
To be familiar with the Canadian Electrical Code (CSA C22.1) and Nova Scotia Safety and Health Regulations
Ability to work 8 hour days, 5 days per week, overtime optional
