Become a pivotal Resettlement Advisor for refugees at KEYS, starting September 28th, 2026. Provide crucial support and guidance to help newcomers transition into life in Canada.
As an essential front-line member of the Refugee and Newcomer Services Team, your role focuses on delivering trauma-informed support and culturally relevant assistance to refugees arriving in Kingston. You will conduct needs assessments, create resettlement plans, and provide guidance on housing, education, and healthcare. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact during the first months of settlement for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct gender- and culturally-informed needs assessments
• Assist clients in finding suitable long-term housing
• Deliver practical information on rights, responsibilities,
and life skills
• Provide short-term counseling for clients in need
• Maintain documentation of all services in case files
Requirements:
• Knowledge of community services available to immigrants and refugees
• Experience in case management or social services
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a high-pressure setting
• Strong ethical decision-making abilities
