Make a difference in students' lives as a Social Worker at SMLS, focusing on their social and emotional well-being in a temporary part time role. Engage with students from Kindergarten through Grade 12.
In collaboration with the Principal of the Junior School, the Social Worker at SMLS aims to provide essential support and counseling, using a strengths-based practice. The role includes facilitating workshops and fostering resilience, crucial to helping students cope with challenges. This position is ideal for those dedicated to promoting mental health in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Offer individual and group support across all grades
• Conduct engaging classroom workshops on self-regulation issues
• Attend Circle of Care meetings to collaborate on student needs
• Manage referrals and communicate effectively with families
• Organize restorative justice practices in conflicts
Requirements:
• 1-3 years of experience in social work preferred
• Relevant education in a field related to social work
• Experience working with youth is highly valued
• Competence in Mac and Google tools desired
• Passion for creating equitable and supportive environments
