This part time role offers 17.5 hours/week, from 7:30 to 11:00 am. Candidates should have a community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker or Child and Youth Care, along with experience in working with school-aged special needs children. Your role will involve various responsibilities, from aiding students with Autism Spectrum Disorder to participating in pool programs and supporting those with learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students with Autism and developmental disabilities
• Collaborate with teachers to implement special programs
• Assist with toileting and pool duties as needed
• Participate in yard supervision during recess
• Observe and record behavior data effectively
Requirements:
• Community college diploma in a relevant field
• 1-2 years of experience with special needs children
• Valid First Aid certification/CPR Level C
• Completed Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
• Knowledge of assistive technology and Ontario Curriculum
