Become a Transitional Support Worker with the Government of Yukon in Whitehorse, YT. This role focuses on supporting vulnerable youth with trauma-informed care in a 24/7 setting.
We are seeking dedicated individuals for auxiliary on-call positions within our Transitional Support Services. This role requires empathy, adaptability, and excellent decision-making skills to create a safe space for children and youth. Your commitment to understanding intergenerational trauma and Yukon First Nation cultural contexts will be vital in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide trauma-informed care in a therapeutic setting
• Support youth with complex care needs and adaptive behaviors
• Work collaboratively to achieve individualized goals
• Manage crisis situations calmly and effectively
• Foster safe and supportive environments for clients
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in relevant fields
• Experience with vulnerable children and youth
• Solid understanding of intergenerational trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Availability for shift work in a 24/7 environment
