Industrial Journeyman Electrician (or 3rd Year Apprentice)Job Category:Maintenance & Skilled TradesRequisition Number:INDUS017153Locations:Barwick OSB, Barwick Mill, Ontario (Maritime region)Rate:$49.02 CAD per hourResponsibilitiesInspect, install, repair, adjust, construct, modify, calibrate, program, and wire electrical and electronic apparatus, devices, and circuits of any voltage in the mill or assigned area.Service all types of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and electromechanical equipment; integrate and maintain graphical control systems and instruments.Promote and enforce plant safety programs and best maintenance practices.Operate and test energized electrical systems safely.Perform E&I services, internal customer service, and reporting with little supervision.Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, switchgear, transformers, reactors, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre‑optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other components.Use required equipment, including hand tools, calibrators,
and electrical test equipment such as multimeters to test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, calibrate, test and install electrical motors, alternators, industrial storage batteries, hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems, and other related devices such as pressure, flow, temperature and safety monitoring devices.Conduct preventive maintenance and keep records.Evaluate processes for improved quality, cost‑effectiveness, and potential growth.QualificationsWill consider individuals who are in their 3rd year or close to completing journeyman requirements.Valid driver’s license.Robust computer proficiency: ability to operate electronic and microcomputer instruments used to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, and level.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work shifts including days, nights and/or weekends.Ability to work at heights.Positive attitude, ability to work safely, mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving skills, and willingness to learn.Compensation and BenefitsHourly pay rate: $50.32/hr.Benefits package includes medical, dental, pension, life insurance, disability, accident insurance, vacation, and holidays.#J-18808-Ljbffr
