The Integrated Community Access Program is seeking a Mental Health Social Worker to provide mental health services through evidence based psychotherapies to individuals with Anxiety and Mood Disorders. As a key member of the team, you will provide clinical assessment and treatment, consultative and educational services to clients, families, community providers, referral sources and other community partners.
You will have demonstrated initiative and creative approaches to challenging situations and will be ready to work collaboratively within a specialized evidence-based service. You will have formal training in CBT and preferably IPT, with experience in working with clients who have complex issues such as Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. You will work actively with our interdisciplinary teams to provide individual and group therapy, case management, community outreach, consultation, education services and discharge planning.
Client service will be through traditional in person methodology as well as in a virtual workplace using Telemedicine.
Requirements:
- A current registration with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
- Current CPR - Health Care Provider (HCP) is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory college requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge in CBT and IPT modalities is required.
- 3-5 years psychiatric experience in a mental health facility or service is preferred
- 3-5 years community-based mental health experience is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Mental Health, and relevant policies and legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and PHIPA is required.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated competence in individual and group evidence based manualized therapies.
- Training and/or experience in facilitating psychoeducational groups
- Experience with presentations is an asset.
- The candidate will have demonstrated excellent interpersonal and effective oral/written communication skills.
- The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds and proficiency in a second language would be considered an asset.
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the position.
- Variable hours may be required due to patient demand.
