The opportunity:
This is a temporary part-time position (0.8 EFT), anticipated to run from September 2026 to October 2027, Reporting to the Director of Health and Fitness, the Nurse is a key member of the interprofessional team, providing professional and caring clinical support to help members and clients achieve their health and fitness goals. The Nurse conducts health assessments, interprets results, makes sound clinical decisions, and provides guidance and recommendations to support secure and effective programs and services. The Nurse also responds to Centre emergencies and provides follow-up care, while demonstrating a strong commitment to professionalism, exceptional service, and helping people live healthier lives.
Key responsibilities:
· Provide professional, caring clinical support to members and clients.
· Conduct health assessment, identify risks, and make sound clinical decisions within the nursing scope of practice.
· Respond to medical incidents and emergencies, provide appropriate care, complete documentation, and coordinate follow-up.
· Collaborate with the interprofessional team to support safe, effective programs and client care.
· Provide health education, counselling, and guidance related to chronic disease, risk reduction, and healthy behaviours.
· Maintain accurate and confidential electronic health records, while supporting health related programs, education, and clinical guidance to staff.
The ideal candidate will possess:
· Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and current registration in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
· Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification.
· Minimum two years of relevant nursing experience; experience in chronic disease management, cardiac rehabilitation, applied exercise physiology, or health promotion is an asset.
· Strong clinical judgment, communication, interpersonal, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong presentation, facilitation, and health education skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interprofessional team.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation/database systems; experience with Accuro EMR is an asset.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively manage competing priorities in a client-focused environment.
· Availability to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends
