The opportunity for you…
The Quality Control Associate is responsible for all quality control tasks necessary to ensure that processes related to AG products and their life cycle are operating in compliance with AG’s quality management system and applicable regional and international regulations such as GMP, Health Canada, FDA, and EU.
You’ll be responsible for…
- Conduct routine sampling and chemical/analytical/physical analysis of raw materials, packaging materials, in-process, bulk, and finished products.
- Administer the “hold” and “release” for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
- Prepare deviation, out of specification, non-conformance, and rejection reports as required. Assist QA with investigation of non-conforming materials.
- Review completed production records prior to batch release. Communicate and follow up with relevant teams to resolve discrepancies and execute necessary revisions.
- Review, collect, and maintain supplier quality documentation (COAs, COCs, SDSs, TDS, technical drawings). Manage supplier communication regarding material deviations or missing records.
- Draft, review, and revise QC laboratory SOPs and production SOPs.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of specifications for raw materials, packaging materials, bulk products, and finished products.
- Assist with the qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and calibration oversight of laboratory and production equipment.
- Execute finished product stability testing protocols, analyze data,
and compile stability summary reports.
- Assist in investigating customer complaints and returned products by conducting analytical evaluation, reviewing associated batch records, and documenting findings.
- Oversee the retention program, ensuring proper organization, inventory logging, and maintenance of the retention storage room.
- Maintain QC laboratory, testing equipment, and equipment reference standards.
- Main the QC standards for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and provide technical and administrative support to the Quality department.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
What you offer…
- Bachelor of Science degree or diploma in Chemistry or related field
- 1+ year experience in working in a lab environment or cosmetics industry, including but not limited to QA/QC an asset
- Basic knowledge of GMP compliance an asset
- Excellent organization & communication skills – both verbal and written
- Solid problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and ability to understand scientific terminology
- Proficiency in MS Office including Word and Excel
- Flexible and eager to learn a range of skills
- Passion and enthusiasm, with a solid commitment to high quality products

For this role, the salary range is $43,000 – $47,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

This is a temporary, full-time onsite position covering a maternity leave, located at AG Headquarters in Coquitlam, BC.
