The City’s Engineering team is searching for a Civil Engineering Coordinator to join our team of professionals. This position’s primary purpose is to provide quality service, assisting on projects related to land development, capital and operating projects, and asset management systems. Our city continues to experience rapid growth; come work with the technical, professional team that is at the forefront of this growth!

What YOU’RE Responsible for:

Review all engineering plans, residential, commercial, and institutional development, for design feasibility, overall accuracy and ensure City’s standards are met, and drawings are in compliance with General Design Guidelines

Review plans for capital projects, ranging from neighbourhood renewals to underground and surface infrastructure upgrades

Review and inspect all shallow utility applications

Provide engineering comments and conditions on various applications, including but not limited to ASPs, Servicing Studies, Subdivisions, Transportation Impact Assessments and Development Agreements

Determine security amounts required for each development based on cost estimates, collect securities and track securities throughout the development process

Attend site meetings and inspections throughout construction, verify if a site is ready to be inspected for Construction Completion Certificate (CCC) or Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC), perform and document CCC/FAC inspections,



as well as follow-up and tracking of deficiencies identified

Review, process, and accept (or reject) all required correspondence related to CCC/FAC including test results and penalty assessments and ensure accurate as-builts are received in a timely manner

Consult with the Engineering Lead and Manager on complex requests and inquiries from Council and senior leadership

Play a key role in establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders regarding service requests, concerns, and inquiries received from Council, members of the public, consultants and contractors

Investigate, research, and provide information for claims, complaints, and concerns received from external stakeholders for existing infrastructure or new projects

Maintain accurate development files, project files, inspection reports, and general engineering department file records

Ensure adherence to Legislative regulations, Safety Directives and procedures and all respectful workplace standards

Report unsafe conditions and near-miss incidents promptly

Attend regular safety meetings and promote a positive attitude

What YOU Bring:

A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology OR a degree in Civil Engineering, or a related discipline

Minimum of three years’ related work experience in land development, involving design and construction of municipal infrastructure, with experience and knowledge of the land development process, municipal design standards, CCC and FAC process,



as well as development review and approval processes

Eligible for Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation as recognized by the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET) OR eligible for Engineer In Training (EIT) designation or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation as recognized by the Association of Qualified Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta

Excellent communication and organizational skills, capable of efficiently managing multiple tasks while meeting critical deadlines

Proven ability to deliver a high level of customer service, a strong attention to detail, and time-management skills

Proficient knowledge and experience working with MS Office 365

Assets:

Experience and knowledge in transportation planning, transportation and/or traffic engineering

Experience working with AutoCAD software and Revu Bluebeam software

What WE Offer:

A salary range of $ 74,019.40 - $ 96,569.20 per annum (based on experience and qualifications)
