Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is one of Ontario’s largest school boards, encompassing both urban and rural areas.POSITION SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Supervisor, Maintenance Services, the Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for the installation, repair, operation and preventive maintenance of heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment and for all associated controls.QUALIFICATIONSValid Refrigeration,



Air Conditioning mechanics license issued by the Ontario Ministry of Education & Training or an equivalent Canadian inter-provincial license.Valid Ozone Depletion Prevention Certificate.Valid G1 gas fitters license issued by the Ontario Ministry of Skills Development or an equivalent Canadian inter-provincial license.Valid Ontario driver’s license.Minimum grade 12 secondary school.Minimum of five years’ experience in diagnostic evaluation, maintenance, installation, set up and commissioning of commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems.EXPERIENCE & SKILLSGood working knowledge of the latest developments in air conditioning technology.Good working knowledge of building service systems.Ability to read mechanical and electrical construction, schematic and control drawings.Valuable working knowledge of Direct Digital Control interface systems.Good working knowledge of electrical control systems, operating procedures, relevant codes and safety practices.Knowledge of the “Occupational Health and Safety Act”.Good oral and written communication in English.POLICE RECORD CHECKThis role will require a Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check dated with six (6) months of hire date and to be provided to Human Resources. The successful candidate will be responsible for any cost associated with obtaining.
