Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Trucking Coordinator to manage and coordinate truck transportation across Western Canada. The successful candidate will work closely with carriers, drivers, customers, elevators, farmers and internal teams to ensure shipments are scheduled, tracked, and delivered efficiently and on time.
Experience in agriculture, grain, commodities, bulk transportation, or export logistics is an asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily truck movements and transportation requirements throughout Western Canada.
- Arrange trucks with approved carriers and negotiate freight rates when required.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries based on elevator/processing plant, farmers and internal teams requirements.
- Communicate with trucking companies, dispatchers, drivers, elevators/processing plant and customers.
- Track shipments from pickup through delivery and provide timely updates.
- Ensure customs paperwork are done in a timely manner.
- Monitor truck availability and proactively address delays, cancellations, breakdowns, and other transportation issues.
- Ensure trucks arrive at the correct loading locations and meet loading/unloading requirements.
- Coordinate grain, agricultural commodities, or other bulk cargo movements where applicable.
- Maintain accurate records of loads, weights, delivery receipts, freight rates, and carrier information.
- Review and reconcile freight invoices against completed shipments.
- Ensure required shipping documents and delivery confirmations are received and properly recorded.
- Assist with planning transportation around rail, vessel, container, and export schedules.
- Identify opportunities to improve truck utilization, reduce freight costs,
and minimize empty miles.
- Maintain strong relationships with trucking companies and develop a reliable carrier network.
- Communicate transportation issues promptly to management and recommend solutions.
- Ensure all transportation activities comply with company policies and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in trucking, dispatch, transportation, logistics, or freight coordination.
- Strong knowledge of Western Canadian transportation routes and trucking networks.
- Experience working with agricultural commodities, grain, bulk products, or export logistics is an asset.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Must be comfortable handling urgent transportation issues outside normal schedules when required.

Working Environment This is a rapid-paced logistics position requiring frequent communication with trucking companies, drivers, customers, elevators/processing plant, farmers and internal teams. The coordinator must be able to respond quickly to changing transportation requirements and unexpected delays.
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
