Personal Support Worker - UCP (Night Shifts)
Part Time: Permanent
Current Status: Vacant
Hourly Wage to Start: $22.16
Location: Oshawa, ON
Start Date: ASAP
Summary
We are looking for people who have a positive attitude, who are flexible and arrive ready to be amember of a successful team!
This role is responsible for providing personal care and social support to residents with the goal of maintaining their personal independence, good health and well-being.
Hours
Night Shifts: 11pm - 7am 30 hours bi-weekly. Every other weekend Willingness to pick up shifts as needed
Qualifications
Personal Support Worker Certificate
Certified in CPR and First Aid required.
Willingness to be trained as a UCP (Unregulated Care Provider)
Experience in a retirement or health care setting is preferred
Familiar with working in a unionized environment
Familiar with Infection Control procedures
Experience working with Seniors
Knowledge of the nursing process and nursing diagnosis if attendant is providing nursing duties.
Exhibits caring and compassion while working with residents.
Required to provide Police Vulnerable Sector Check upon hire.
Required to complete Orientation and all ORCA and in house training courses.
UCP, Medication Administration
Ability to prioritize, demonstrate flexibility and understanding.
Ensure that all decisions and actions are responsible and, in the resident's, best interest.
Effective Communication/Interpersonal skills both verbal and written
Responsibilities
Performs those functions which provide for the support and care of residents with an acceptable standard of skill, with a sense of responsibility and respect for privacy and dignity.
Assists in the process of observing, reporting and documenting the changes in the residents' physical and emotional condition.
Implement the plans of care for assigned residents as outlined by the Director of Care and provides input into care plans.
Documents as per the home's policies.
Promotes comfort and safety for the residents.
Promotes independence and wellness.
Maintains effective communication and positive human relations with residents, families and staff of other departments, using the appropriate lines of communication.
