Job details cook Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience.
Work setting: Restaurant.
Tasks: Determine the size of food portions and costs. Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization. Requisition food and kitchen supplies. Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods. Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances. Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef. Inspect kitchens and food service areas. Order supplies and equipment. Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment. Clean kitchen and work areas. Organize buffets and banquets. Manage kitchen operations.

Ship's cook Certificate
Cook Red Seal Certificate
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Safe Food Handling certificate
First Aid Certificate
CPR Certificate
Cuisine specialties: South Indian. French. Canadian. Japanese cuisine. Thai. European. Vegetarian. International. Gluten‑free.
Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge.
Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence.
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years.
