We are partnering with a well-established, proudly Saskatchewan-based transportation organization to find an experienced Senior Transportation Dispatcher to join their Saskatoon team.
This is an opportunity for someone who doesn’t simply want to follow an existing playbook. The team is looking for an experienced dispatcher who can bring ideas to the table, use their judgment, make decisions, identify better ways of doing things, and have a genuine impact on the operation.

And while the business operates 24/7,this position works Monday through Friday.

What You’ll Be Doing
As the Senior Hauling Dispatcher, you’ll play a key role in coordinating the movement of equipment, operators and freight while balancingsafety, customer commitments, efficiency and cost.
Your responsibilities will include:
Coordinate and dispatch hauling trips,
matching the appropriate operators and equipment to each load
Develop trip and route plans with a focus on safety, timing and cost efficiency
Monitor truck and operator availability and adjust plans as priorities change
Proactively identify load opportunities, pursue backhauls and maximize fleet utilization
Schedule pickups, deliveries and customer appointments
Communicate load requirements, trip details and procedures clearly to drivers
Coordinate permits, customs information and other required documentation
Monitor driver logs and hours-of-service requirements to ensure compliance
Keep customers informed of shipment status, delays and changing requirements
Provide customers with accurate estimates and respond to questions professionally and promptly
Coordinate daily schedules around truck repairs, maintenance and equipment availability
Prepare upcoming trips so operators have the information they need before heading out
Review operational and administrative reporting, including outstanding invoices and unpriced calls
Work closely with the General Manager and broader team to resolve operational challenges
Identify inefficiencies and recommend practical ways to improve processes, workflows and service
Help implement new ideas and improvements across the operation
Mentor and support junior members of the dispatch team
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who has been around transportation long enough to know that no two days go exactly according to plan —and who actually enjoys figuring things out when they don’t.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
5+ years of commercial transportation/dispatch experience
Strong knowledge of trucking, routing, load planning and fleet coordination
Excellent judgment and the confidence to make decisions
The ability to manage multiple trucks, drivers, customers and priorities simultaneously
Strong understanding of driver hours-of-service and transportation compliance
Experience coordinating permits, freight documentation and/or cross-border shipments would be an asset
A strong customer-service mindset and the ability to build relationships
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with drivers, customers and management
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience with fleet-tracking/GPS systems and Microsoft Office
A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving
The confidence to suggest a better way when you see one
A willingness to share your knowledge and help develop others
