Job Description
Reporting to the plant manager, the Paint Line Supervisor is responsible for managing a team of 22 to 30 unionized employees, working in 3 shifts. Generally, the Supervisor will ensure achievement of plant’s objectives by driving protected and efficient operations in their department.

Responsibilities

Schedules work and assign tasks to employees.

Ensures completion and approval of timesheets for payroll.

Ensures the use of ÉPI and zero tolerance for unsafe work practices.

Understands and enforces the Collective Agreement and Gentek’s policies.

Ensures and applies the disciplinary process in the department.

Collaborates with HR to address employees’ requests/concerns.

Manages the equipment and human resources in accordance with our continuous improvement processes.

Completes all metric/ performance reporting on a timely basis and reports the results of the department during daily meetings.

Determines and initiates related to non-conformance or other continuous improvement opportunities.

Coordinates the production of painted and cut rolls.

Collaborates with the maintenance supervisor to plan preventive maintenance.

Ensures the effective performance of employees through coaching/training.

Provides monthly health & safety training and performs health & safety audits.

Qualifications
Expérience/éducation/compétences





Technique en génie industriel ou génie mécanique avec 3 à 5 ans d’expérience dans le milieu manufacturier en tant que superviseur.

Connaissances techniques en mécanique industrielle et/ou en électromécanique et instrumentation, un atout.

Expérience en milieu syndiqué, un atout.

Compétence en informatique – Suite Office, surtout Excel.

Bilinguisme, anglais et français, écrit et parlé.

Capacité à prendre et maintenir des décisions sous la pression.

De solides qualités de leader et d’excellentes compétences en communication nécessaires afin d'établir des relations internes et externes, c'est-à-dire professionnalisme, tact, courtoisie, coaching/formation

Experience/Education/Competencies

Technical education in industrial/mechanical engineering with 3 to 5 years of experience in the manufacturing sector as supervisor.

Technical knowledge in industrial mechanics and / or electromechanical and instrumentation, an asset.

Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.

Computer skills - Office Suite, especially Excel.

Bilingualism, English and French, written and spoken.

Ability to make and maintain decisions under pressure.

Strong leadership and excellent communication skills needed to establish internal and external relationships, e.g. professionalism, tact, courtesy, coaching / training
