Household Manager / Family Assistant Part-Time Long-Term Calgary, AB
We are a busy young family looking for an exceptional Household Manager / Family Assistant to become a trusted, long-term part of our household.
This is a hybrid role combining housekeeping, household organization and occasional childcare. We aren’t looking for someone who simply comes in, completes a cleaning checklist and leaves. We’re looking for someone proactive, organized and dependable who takes pride in helping a household run beautifully.
Both parents work from home, and we have a sweet one-year-old daughter, as well as two super friendly kitties.
The majority of the role will initially focus on keeping the home clean, organized and running smoothly, with occasional help entertaining or caring for our daughter while we’re working nearby.
What the role may include: General housekeeping and maintaining a clean, tidy home
Laundry, folding and putting clothing away
Kitchen and common-area cleanup
Organizing cupboards, closets, toys and household spaces
Keeping track of household items that need to be restocked
Light meal or food preparation
Occasional errands
Helping maintain household calendars, reminders and to-do lists
Noticing and communicating things that need attention, repair or replacement
Helping prepare the home for guests, holidays or events
Occasionally playing with or caring for our daughter for short periods while we’re working
Generally helping take things off our plate before we have to ask




The biggest thing we’re looking for is initiative.
If you notice the laundry needs switching over, you switch it. If we’re running low on something, you add it to the list. If a cupboard has become chaos, you organize it. We want someone who eventually knows the rhythm of our home and can confidently take ownership of their role within it.

Because childcare is involved, trust and safety are incredibly important to us. We would want to build the relationship gradually before leaving our daughter independently in someone’s care.
Schedule Approximately 2-4 days per week to start, with some flexibility depending on the right person’s availability and our family’s needs.
There is potential for the position to grow over time. We’re hoping to find someone who can become a genuine long-term fixture in our family’s life - potentially continuing with us through future moves, travel and changes in our household.
