Assist with the upkeep of St. Thomas parks as a Parks and Trails Technician. This temporary, full time position offers hands-on involvement in landscaping and trail maintenance.

You'll report to the Supervisor of Parks and Forestry, focusing on the safe and effective maintenance of city parks and trail systems. Your duties will include performing seasonal maintenance tasks, operating vehicles and machinery, and collaborating with contractors. Your leadership will help guide temporary staff toward maintaining high standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Execute seasonal maintenance of parks and trails
• Liaise with contractors on projects
• Operate commercial mowers and power tools
• Participate in horticultural maintenance
• Maintain precise records of all activities

Requirements:
• Accredited 2-year Diploma in Horticulture
• Minimum 2 years’ practical horticulture experience
• Valid “G” Ontario Driver’s Licence
• Experience with pesticide application
• Completion of Corporate Orientation and Safety Training
