Lead Community Legal Services at Western University as the Associate Director. This role supports marginalized communities and guides law students in delivering impactful legal assistance.
The Associate Director for Community Legal Services (CLS) offers oversight and strategic direction for the clinic’s operations. With a focus on high-quality legal services, you will mentor students and engage in public legal education. Your leadership will help foster integration with Western Law's goals while advocating for community needs and enhancing experiential learning opportunities for students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide daily operational oversight and legal supervision
• Ensure high-quality legal services for marginalized communities
• Mentor and evaluate law students in a clinical setting
• Engage in community outreach and advocacy projects
• Align clinic goals with institutional priorities
Requirements:
• Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
• Licensed member in valuable standing with Ontario Law Society
• 7 years of legal experience, particularly in litigation
• 2 years of experience mentoring law students
• Knowledge of legal aid structures and compliance
This role combines legal expertise, mentorship, and community outreach to support marginalized populations effectively.
