Location of Work: 6 Hyde Avenue, Toronto, ON M6M 1J3
Primary Duties & Responsibilities include: Inspecting and assessing equipment and structures for damages that require welding repairs
Interpreting blueprints, sketches, or specifications to determine the required method and sequence of welding operations
Using a variety of welding techniques, such as arc welding, MIG welding, or TIG welding, to repair and maintain equipment and structures
Testing and inspecting welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws and ensure conformance to specifications
Maintaining welding tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order
Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications or types and thicknesses of metals.
Ensuring all welding operations are conducted in accordance with safety standards and regulations
Monitor the fitting, burning,



and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
Performing preventative maintenance tasks and identifying potential issues before they lead to serious problems
Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.
Job Requirements: Proven experience as a Welder with a minimum of 3-years in sheet metal fabrication & welding machinery
Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, squares, calipers etc.).
A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.
Strong technical knowledge of blueprints and welding diagrams.
Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift heavy materials up to 50 pounds.
