Role Description The Underground Mine Production Supervisor is a full time, on-site role based in Saskatchewan, Canada. This position is responsible for supervising underground production crews, coordinating daily mining activities, and ensuring that production targets are met safely and efficiently. Day-to-day tasks include assigning work, monitoring development and production progress, inspecting work areas and equipment, and enforcing mine safety standards and procedures.
The supervisor will collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and health and safety teams to manage ventilation, ground control, equipment utilization, and workflow scheduling.
The role also involves maintaining accurate shift reports, guiding and mentoring crew members, participating in incident investigations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in underground operations.
Qualifications
- Experience supervising underground mining operations, including production, development, and ground control activities.
- Strong knowledge of mine safety regulations, hazard identification, risk assessment, and safe work procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to direct crews, resolve issues, and foster a respectful, inclusive work environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with production, engineering, maintenance, and safety teams.
- Proficiency in using mine reporting systems, shift logs, and basic computer applications for documentation and planning.
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities in fast-paced, underground environments.
- Relevant experience in underground mining in Saskatchewan or similar jurisdictions; familiarity with local regulations is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in mining, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and training.
