Job Posting: Prep Coverage and Resource Teacher (1-Year Contract)

Location: Remote Community, Northern Ontario

Candidate must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident AND be willing to relocate as soon as possible

Basics:

-1 year contract in a remote First Nations community in Northern Ontario (Wapekeka First Nation)

- must have OCT in good standing
- housing and relocation will be provided
- knowledge of and/or experience working with Indigenous populations is beneficial

Key Responsibilities:

- Teach a variety of subjects for elementary and continuing education students
- Prep coverage for homeroom teachers
- Implement reading recovery program
- Work in small groups and one on one with students with special needs
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for students.




- Create lesson plans that meet the curriculum requirements and cater to diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues and community members to deliver culturally relevant content
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students and families.
- Contribute to the overall development of students through extracurricular activities and community involvement
