Join the Barrie Area Native Advisory Circle as a Social Worker Therapist, providing culturally safe addiction recovery support in a full time permanent role. Engage with clients through trauma-informed therapy and facilitate group programs.
As a vital member of an interprofessional Indigenous primary care team, you will leverage trauma-informed methods and therapeutic expertise to guide individuals through addiction recovery. Your work will center around culturally grounded assessments and treatment plans, incorporating Indigenous knowledge and evidence-based practices like NET and CBT. Collaborating closely with community members, you'll prepare them for specialized programs while fostering connections to cultural wellness practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide trauma-informed addiction recovery interventions
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans
• Maintain effective therapeutic relationships with clients
• Navigate community support systems and advocate for clients
• Collaborate within interdisciplinary teams for holistic care
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Social Work or Counselling Psychology
• 3+ years in trauma-informed therapy and addictions recovery
• Experience with Indigenous communities using a two-eyed seeing approach
• Knowledge of Indigenous culture, language, and history
• Competency in electronic documentation practices
