A Day in the Life As a Junior Environmental Scientist/Technologist, in Fort St. John, British Columbia, you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals. The compensation range for this role is $24.00 to $35.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.
Responsibilities Active participation in maintaining our strong safety culture
Lead and assist with simple to moderately complex contaminated site field investigations or reclamation projects




Act as a leader in the workplace using the Onterris Standard Operating Safety and Technical Procedures
Supervise sub-contractors
Initial interpretation of field data to make field‑related decisions
Work with senior technical advisors to ensure high quality products that meet our clients’ unique project needs
Communicate and liaise with clients and project related stakeholders
Manage project related timelines and budgets
Preparation of technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, cost estimates, and summary reports
Function effectively as part of a collaborative team
Your Expertise and Skills A degree or technical diploma in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology or engineering.
1+ years’ experience managing assessment, reclamation, remediation and monitoring projects for Oil and Gas clients within a consulting environment would be considered an asset.
Eligibility for registration in or maintaining a good standing in a professional organization.
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Self‑motivated and possess strong communication skills (verbal and written).
A solid knowledge of British Columbia regulatory framework.
Experience writing technical reports.
Ability to interface with cross‑functional teams and all levels of personnel/management.
A valid and clean class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions.




Work Environment and Physical Requirements Works predominantly outdoors and may be exposed to hot and cold environments and extreme weather conditions, including sunlit, rainy and windy conditions
Lifting 50 pounds several times a day
Sitting, standing, and walking
Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds
Works in an office environment when not deployed on an emergency response
