Job Title: Welder Job Description
This role focuses on fabricating and welding metal components using MIG and flux core processes while following precise measurements and quality standards. You will cut, weld, graft metal, complete inspection reports, take photos to document work, and troubleshoot issues as they arise. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work cleanly and tidily, and comfort using an iPad to navigate documentation and reporting.
Responsibilities Perform MIG and flux core welding on a variety of metal components in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.
Cut, graft, and fabricate metal parts using appropriate tools and techniques to meet blueprint and measurement requirements.
Follow detailed measurements and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of structures.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for construction and welding tasks.
Maintain a clean, organized, and tidy work area to support safety and efficiency.
Complete inspection reports and other required documentation accurately and on time.
Take clear photos of completed work and work in progress for quality assurance and project records.
Identify and troubleshoot welding, fabrication, and fit-up issues, proposing practical solutions.
Operate MIG welders, saws, presses, punching equipment, and other power tools in a safe and controlled manner.
Navigate and use iPads or similar devices to access drawings, work orders, and reporting tools.
Adhere to all workplace safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and compliance with WHMIS guidelines.
Collaborate with other trades and team members on construction sites to complete tasks efficiently.
Move between different project sites as required, adjusting to varying work conditions and layouts.
Essential Skills Minimum 4+ years of welding experience, including MIG and flux core welding.
At least 1+ year of construction experience in a site-based environment.
Proficiency in fabricating, cutting, welding, and grafting metal components.




Ability to read and interpret blueprints and follow accurate measurements.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds and fabrication work.
Ability to safely operate MIG welders, saws, presses, punching equipment, and other power tools.
Comfort using hand tools in a construction and fabrication setting.
Capability to navigate and use iPads or similar digital devices for work instructions and reporting.
Effective problem-solving skills to address welding and fabrication issues on site.
Knowledge of WHMIS and adherence to safety protocols.
Reliability in maintaining a clean, tidy, and organized workspace.
Additional Skills & Qualifications Auto body experience is an asset and may support more specialized fabrication work.
Familiarity with construction practices and working alongside other trades.
Experience working on large, complex projects or institutional buildings is beneficial.
Comfort working at multiple sites and adapting to different work environments.

Work Setting The work schedule is likely Monday to Friday to start, with potential overtime opportunities in the fall and as the project progresses.



The project duration may extend beyond the initial timeline, providing ongoing work. The job is located near public transit, with no parking available in the immediate area, making it convenient for those who commute by sky train. You must be comfortable moving between different sites, including Aldergrove, Vancouver, and Surrey. Basic personal tools and protective equipment are required, including a welding helmet, apron, clear safety glasses, gloves, 6" steel-toe footwear, hard hat with lanyard, and high-visibility clothing, reflecting a safety-focused construction and fabrication environment.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Vancouver, BC.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Vancouver,BC.
