Project Manager – Supply Chain - Solar Racking SystemsOperations Full Time Mississauga, ON $75,000 - $105,000 CAD per yearPolar Racking Inc. is a North American leader in the design, engineering and manufacturing of PV mounting systems. We support our North American clients from multiple locations in North America.Principal Responsibilities / Key Results AreasManaging the program lifecycle of solar racking systems, including carport, single axis tracker, and fixed tilt racking projects.Overseeing all phases from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, and leading cross‑functional teams to achieve project goals.Manage projects through the complete life cycle from inception to completion, including timing, concept, feasibility, design, manufacturing, try‑out, launch, buy‑off, budget, and engineering changes.Verify racking designs and concepts to meet all specified customer requirements.Coordinate customer requests for drawing updates and/or design changes.Coordinate program vendor activities, including design, tooling, and parts suppliers, to ensure cost, delivery, and quality targets are met according to customer requirements and standards.Follow up as required to ensure project timing and quality standards.Work with engineering to develop and improve installation and maintenance manuals.Provide technical support for continuous improvement of product and manufacturing processes,
including recommending and implementing new technology and processes.Travel to solar sites to work with customers, answer concerns, and provide feedback to engineering for improvement.Lead the local team as well as regional leads globally, providing guidance and making positive decisions.Lead cross‑functional team meetings as required.Hold the team accountable to deadlines and tasks.Establish, plan, and execute timing, resources, quality, budgets, and manufacturing performance objectives to meet customer, people, and investor targets.Ensure prototype and production tools, processes, early builds, and production parts meet targeted cost, quality, and timing constraints.Ensure any changes to Bills of Material, tooling, costing, pricing, and/or processes are properly documented, communicated, and implemented effectively with the appropriate departments, personnel, customers, and suppliers.Keep up to date on customer requirements and communicate them to the team.Responsible for team member training, development, and goal setting.Able to attract new business and support bringing in additional sales.Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs.Follows and complies with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.Required to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance to all local laws requirements where performing work. Follows and ensures the Company’s procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout their assigned area.Travel to project sites, business meetings, and tradeshow,
as needed and required.Other duties as assigned.RequirementsBachelor's degree/diploma in Project Management, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related fieldA minimum of 5 years' experience in project management preferably in the solar industry, or foundation installation and related fieldsA minimum of 3 years' experience in solar project management is mandatory for this positionKnowledge of foundation technologies and associated best practices is an asset.Experience managing construction projects from design through completion on schedule and within budget, working extensively with subcontractors.Experience in cost control and budget management on construction projects.Ability to influence key stakeholder, excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with team members, engineers and project stakeholdersExperience in managing multiple projects concurrentlyExcellent organizational, time management, leadership and problem solving skillsKnowledge of applicable codes, regulations and best practices related to site constructionPMP certification is considered an asset but not requiredWhy Polar Racking?Join our team and become part of a dynamic company at the forefront of the renewable energy sector.
