About the role: Reporting to the Senior Engineering Supervisor, the Senior Mine Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing strategic long-range plans to sustain and extend the Life of Mine at Greenhills Operations. The role involves executing all aspects of long-range planning including: pit, spoil and haul road design optimizations, life of mine schedules, strategic evaluations, all while considering potential impacts to sustainable development. This role also leads and supports key deliverables, including the Life of Asset, 5-year plan, budget, forecast and R&R;, by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring that deadlines are met. This role is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to make a positive impact on the business.

In this role you will: Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
Lead and support key deliverables, including the Life of Asset, 5-year plan, budget, forecast
Mentor and develop skill set of the Long - Range Engineering Team
Execute on a wide range of mine planning including pit, spoil, haulage and closure design while considering potential sustainable development impacts
Perform iterative production scheduling from KPI analysis to estimated coal blending results
Influence strong site decision making through detailed data analysis and sound mining practices
Perform economic evaluations, long range capital consolidation, productivity analyses, strategic planning assessments, and peer reviews
Communicate mine development projects to the permitting groups within the business unit. Assist in developing mine permit applications and amendments and ensure mine plans are following permit compliance
Participate in the development of annual reserves and resource reporting
Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience
Registered P.Eng., or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC);EVR will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration
Minimum seven years experience in mine planning
Proficiency in mine scheduling software such as XPAC Solutions, and mine design software such as MinePlan3D
Solid understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite®
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
Salary: $116,000 - $145,000 CAD/year
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
