Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation - Government of Newfoundland and Labrador

Provides accurate tourism information and personalized trip-planning support to visitors in person, online, by email, and by phone.

Promotes

Newfoundland and Labrador attractions, accommodations, parks, campgrounds, transportation, and other tourism experiences to encourage longer stays and repeat visitation. Supports the daily operation of the Visitor Information Centre by maintaining tourism literature, promotional materials, visitor statistics, and digital resources. Engages with visitors through various channels, responds to inquiries, and works with tourism operators, community organizations, and government partners to share current and accessible visitor information.

Screening Criteria

1. Completion of a post-secondary diploma in Tourism (equivalencies will be considered)
2. Experience in customer service/sales
3.



Bilingual : English/French (Asset)

Assessment Criteria

1. Knowledge of Newfoundland and Labrador’s tourism industry
2. Knowledge of inter and intra-provincial transportation systems
3. Knowledge of Newfoundland and Labrador’s geography, natural history and culture
4. Ability to effectively exchange information
5. Ability to manage time and tasks
6. Ability to work independently
7. Relationship Building

Conditions of Acceptance

1. Willing to accept shift work (regularly)
2. Willing to accept work on weekends and holidays (regularly)
