Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and reliable Vocal Coach / Voice Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will teach private and small-group voice lessons to children, teens, and adults, helping students develop healthy vocal technique, confidence, artistry, and a lifelong love of singing.

Responsibilities

- Teach engaging and individualized voice lessons to students of all ages and skill levels.
- Instruct students in healthy vocal technique, breath support, posture, tone production, diction, resonance, vocal placement, ear training, and musicianship.
- Teach a variety of musical styles, including pop, musical theatre, classical, contemporary, jazz, gospel, and folk.
- Assist students with performance preparation, stage presence, interpretation, and confidence-building.
- Select appropriate repertoire based on each student's age, vocal range, goals, and interests.
- Prepare students for recitals, performances, festivals, competitions, auditions, and examinations when applicable.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and families.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and academy administration.
- Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled lessons.
- Participate in academy events, recitals, camps,



and special programs when required.

Qualifications

- Minimum 1–2 years of vocal teaching or coaching experience.
- Degree or diploma in Music, Voice Performance, Music Education, Vocal Pedagogy, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of vocal technique, musicianship, and repertoire.
- Ability to teach students from beginner to advanced levels.
- Experience teaching children, teens, and adults.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, energetic, organized, and dependable.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all ages and abilities.
- Ability to accompany students on piano is considered an asset.
- Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience preparing students for performances, festivals, competitions, auditions, and examinations.
- Knowledge of multiple vocal styles and pedagogical approaches.
- Experience directing choirs, vocal ensembles, or group classes.
- Experience with online instruction and educational technology.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
- Ability to teach beginner piano or music theory is considered an asset.
